The Good, the Bad, and the zzzzzz...

You know what? If you're the singer of a band as famed and great as Blur is/was, your projects really can't be taken too lightly. White label releases and anonymous turns are all well and good, but don't just throw off the cuff tunes out to the public willy-nilly. Sorry, you've got a reputation to uphold if you want to keep your credibility.

It's with this thinking that I listen to the first release and exposure of Damon Albarn's new band The Good, the Bad, and the Queen (along with Paul Simonon, Peter Tong, and Tony Allen- hardly lightweights.) "Herculean" is anything but its namesake. Sounding like it easily could've been a deep album cut from Blur's Think Tank or the either of the Gorillaz LPs, it just stumbles and mosies for four minutes with a meager melody and little progression from start to finish. It'll be released and in turn deleted as a single October 30th. A first glimpse at a new side project for Damon? Lets hope it's not entirely indicative of the album proper...

The Good, the Bad, and the Queen- Herculean

Sorry, but Damon Albarn isn't that big, nobody really give a fuck about him. Let him put out whatever fucking garbage he wants...nobody is listening.

I don't know, I like the beats on this and I like that the melodies are pleasant but don't get stuck in my head. Thanks for sharing it.

Sorry, but it's Simon Tong, not Peter,
important cause he was guitarist for The Verve, The Shining, and Blur for the band's live performance.
And sorry "anonymous", but Damon Albarn is a REALLY great musicien, if you don't want to say he is big, admit that he's going to be one of the most important artist of the century, because he does things.listenable things by people... whatever you don't like and we don't give a fuck about that.

Ah thank you, rachel. I know which is which but got the names crossed in my head. And I completely agree on Damon's greatness.
